Enrollment Guidelines

INFANT TODDLER PROGRAM

Children who are 3 months through two and a half are eligible for the Infant/Toddler program.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

Children who are two and a half years of age before September 1 through kindergarten age are eligible to enroll in the Preschool program.

Children who start preschool before their third birthday will be on a trial basis to decide if the child is developmentally prepared for this experience. The teacher will make the decision with the parents for the child to continue or not after a minimum two –week observation period. If the decision is made that the child is not developmentally ready for preschool at this time, the child can participate in the Toddler program until the age of three.

The developmental needs of the child are also a consideration of program eligibility. Classrooms will fulfill the best developmental groups possible to meet the needs of all children involved and meet licensing guidelines.

Enrollment paperwork must be completed and returned within the first week of attendance. A $50 registration fee applies to seasonal enrollment. The information gathered in the registration packet will ensure that your child gets the very best care possible, while satisfying the record keeping requirement of state licensing guidelines. All forms will be reviewed annually. If there are any changes of information, please notify the director to update your records.

Enrollment for our 2022-2023 academic year is closed.  We will be sharing information about our 2023 summer program and our 2023-2024 academic year enrollment as it becomes available.  We may not always be able to take all interested students given either legal capacity or staffing constraints. All inquiries should be sent to director@islesboropreschool.org .

Any families needing tuition support should apply for the IPS Scholarship Fund via the Islesboro Community Fund.  An application is available here.
